In the journey of faith, we are not just saved for our own sake; we are saved to serve a greater purpose. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to be lights in a world filled with darkness. Each one of us has been anointed with unique gifts and talents to fulfill a specific purpose ordained by God Himself.
The Scriptures tell us that we are "God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10, NIV). This means that even before we were born, God had already planned out a specific role for us to play in His grand design.
But how do we discover this purpose? How do we prepare ourselves to fulfill it? And how do we deploy it effectively in a world that desperately needs the light of Christ?
First and foremost, we must seek guidance from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our divine Counselor, Advocate, and Guide. He knows the plans that God has for us, and He will lead us into all truth (John 16:13). Through prayer, meditation on the Word, and a surrendered heart, we can tune our spirits to hear His voice and receive His direction.
Next, we must be willing to step out in faith and obedience. Often, God's calling may lead us out of our comfort zones and into unfamiliar territory. But we can trust that He will equip us with everything we need to fulfill His purposes (Hebrews 13:21). As we step out in faith, we will see His power working through us to accomplish His will.
It's also essential to cultivate a heart of humility and servanthood. Jesus Himself set the example for us when He washed the feet of His disciples (John 13:1-17). As we humble ourselves and serve others with love and compassion, we reflect the heart of our Savior to the world around us.
Finally, we must persevere in our calling, knowing that our labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). There will be challenges and obstacles along the way, but we can take courage in the promise that God is with us always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20).
So, dear disciples, let us embrace our anointing with boldness and confidence, knowing that we are called and chosen by God for such a time as this. Let us allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, prepare us, and deploy us for the glory of His kingdom. Together, let us shine brightly as lights in a dark and broken world, pointing others to the hope and salvation found only in Jesus Christ.
In His service,
Prince Victor Matthew
