As a public speaker, one of the greatest mistakes you can make is trying to speak to everyone about everything. You were not sent to every audience, and you are not called to address every topic. Your voice carries a unique weight, and that weight is tied to your assignment. When you try to speak on everything, you dilute your impact and lose the authority that comes from speaking within your divine mandate.
Pay close attention to the burdens in your heart. What issues keep you awake at night? What problems make you cry or stir righteous anger within you? Those burdens are not random—they are clues to your audience and your message. For Moses, it was the suffering of Israel in Egypt. For Nehemiah, it was the broken walls of Jerusalem. For you, it might be family restoration, youth empowerment, leadership integrity, or spiritual growth. Burdens reveal assignments.
When you understand your burden, you find your lane. And when you stay in your lane, you run with clarity and confidence. You no longer compete or compare with others because you know your voice is meant for a specific people and a specific purpose. This focus also attracts the right audience—those who resonate with your message because it speaks directly to their need.
So stop spreading yourself thin trying to be everywhere and please everyone. Instead, steward the burden God placed in your heart. Speak where your passion and assignment meet. When you do, your words will not just inform—they will transform lives and fulfill the reason you were called to speak.
Hope Expression Values You
