Every thriving ministry begins with an honest look at where it currently stands. Just as Nehemiah inspected the broken walls of Jerusalem before rebuilding (Nehemiah 2:13–15), every minister must take time to assess the health, strength, and gaps within their assignment. Without clarity on your present condition, the pursuit of growth becomes guesswork.
Assessment means asking: what has God entrusted to me, and how faithfully have I stewarded it? Look at the spiritual maturity of those you serve, the depth of discipleship, and the consistency of prayer and word study in your ministry. Numbers alone don’t tell the full story—faithfulness and impact do.
This process also involves reviewing your structures. Do you have clear systems for training, accountability, and outreach? Sometimes, ministries collapse not because of lack of anointing but because of weak foundations. A house built on sand cannot withstand the storm (Matthew 7:26–27).
Taking stock is not about discouragement but direction. It positions you to thank God for progress, repent where needed, and prepare for what’s next. Ministries that pause to assess their current state end up stronger because they face the truth in light of God’s grace.
Self-Assessment Questions:
1. Have I taken time recently to prayerfully evaluate the health of my ministry?
2. What areas of my calling show growth, and what areas show neglect?
3. If God inspected my foundation today, would it reflect obedience or assumption?
