No ministry is free from conflict, but every minister must be skilled in restoration. Unity, once broken, can be mended if leaders are willing to humble themselves and pursue reconciliation. A shepherd does not abandon wounded sheep; he heals them. In the same way, a minister does not ignore division but takes responsibility to restore peace.
Restoring broken unity requires prayer, dialogue, and humility. Prayer softens hearts, dialogue clears misunderstandings, and humility allows both sides to admit faults. As a minister, you must be the first to take the step of peace, even when you feel wronged. This shows maturity and a commitment to Christ above self.
Restoration may take time, but it is worth the effort. A united church or ministry is a weapon against the kingdom of darkness. The enemy fears a house in harmony because it reflects the power of the early church in Acts, where believers were “of one accord.”
Self-assessment:
Do I avoid dealing with division, or do I seek to restore it?
Am I willing to humble myself first for the sake of peace?
How can I create structures in my ministry that foster reconciliation?
